Terms of use

These terms apply to Flip, its website, and its optional connection service, provided by Ali Shan. By using these services, you agree to these terms. For questions, contact alishansnsn@gmail.com.

Using Flip

You may use Flip for lawful personal or professional work on a compatible Mac. You are responsible for having permission to store and share the content you use with it. Do not misuse the service, bypass access controls, interfere with other users, or use it to violate someone else's rights.

Your notes remain yours

You retain ownership of your content. You allow Flip and the providers you choose to process it only as needed to carry out your requested actions. These terms do not give us ownership of your notes.

Optional connections

Notion and Obsidian are independent services with their own terms. Flip is not affiliated with or endorsed by either provider. You choose whether to connect and which notes to send or update. Check the destination and content before sharing.

Updates can replace content in linked destinations. External-change checks reduce accidental overwrites but cannot eliminate every conflict. Formatting may change during Markdown conversion. Disconnecting Flip or deleting a local note does not remove copies already sent to another service.

Keep backups

Keep independent backups of important notes. Local storage, migrations, exports, third-party services, and software updates can fail. Flip is not a backup service, and we cannot recover notes stored only on your Mac.

Availability and changes

We may update features or change or discontinue the service. Third-party outages, usage limits, or changes to their APIs can interrupt integrations. We do not promise uninterrupted access or compatibility with every app or future macOS version.

Software and other rights

Flip's branding and other materials remain the property of their respective owners. Any separate license included with the software or its open-source components governs those components; these terms do not remove rights granted by those licenses.

Warranties and responsibility

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Flip is provided as available, without a promise that it will be error-free or meet every need. We are not responsible for losses caused by third-party services, unauthorized sharing by you, or circumstances outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.

Stopping use

You may stop using Flip at any time. Export anything you want to keep, disconnect optional integrations, and remove local data or external copies as appropriate. We may restrict access to our hosted connection service when necessary to address abuse, security risks, or legal requirements.

Privacy and updates to these terms

Our privacy policy explains how information is handled. We will post changes to these terms here with an updated effective date and communicate material changes through the website or app. Mandatory protections under the laws that apply to you remain unaffected.
